Two Novels by John Locke: Saving Rachel and Wish List

As with my last review, I've been reading lately for my own pleasure instead of review requests, and what a treat it's been.  I very much enjoy good writing that keeps me on the edge of my seat, and both these novels were no exception.  Mr. Locke is enjoying some popularity right now on Amazon, selling an eBook every 7 minutes.  For some reason, I rip through a book lots faster on my Kindle, so after reading "Saving Rachel", I bought all six of his novels... for 99 cents each!

His novels are written in the first person from a character named Donavon Creed. He speaks to the reader with conversational candor that is engaging, very often funny, and in an exploratory way - in that, you discover truths and plot twists along with him.  It's a unique writing style, one that is very enjoyable. A strange technique he uses is to switch characters half way through the story, so someone else is speaking to you...

In Saving Rachel, the central character must choose between his wife and his mistress in a bizarre setting (I won't spoil it for you). He's told the one he doesn't choose will die... but as it turns out, nothing is really what it seems.

In Wish List, a group of men register their impossible wishes on a web site. When they start coming true, other strange things begin to happen that change their lives forever. Its quite a roller coaster ride, just like Saving Rachel.

His plot twists are ingenious, surprising, and very well thought out. The action packed story line is anything but pedestrian, so for anyone with a Kindle, I highly recommend this dude.

Both novels: 5 outa 5 stars.
